The Fenton Lions Club celebrated the Michigan Arbor Day this year on April 26. We went to three area elementary schools and spoke to all of the 4th grade classes about Arbor Day. We donated 2 year old seedlings to each 4th grader, and we gave a small program about Arbor Day to them. We included a history of Arbor Day, a tree poem, and interactive session on what they like best about trees, and of course, some Lions information. Leader Dog pencils were also given out. Thanks to Branching Out Nursery, each school received a donated tree from the nursery. It was a very successful day!
