travels, fratz, loose, burton, auto cases, neveda , california, florida

Hello my readers. I last left off with the news of a dear friend needing surgery for reconstruction to stop the brain fluid leakage from her ear. Elise has had the surgery at u of m in ann arbor and is waiting for the results of the biopsys sent out. She is sore as they cut through the muscle in the jaw we all chew with. Its a long recovery and we look forward to the support of the community March 10th at The Moose Club on Sonora Drive in Fenton from 1 to 4 pm. We are having a spaghetti supper, silent auction and singing entertainment. There is a link to everything going on in my previous blog. I have to once again thank everyone that has contributed and volunteered. Support is a big heart warming experience when you have people that do not even know Elise doing what they can do to help.It makes me even prouder to be part of this community. The silent auction has donations from Fratz Consignment ,sisters ,yvonne and Linda of beautiful amber wear to vintage china. There is also a huge turtle quilt made with loving hands from Linda. A ticket package to the 2014 msu rodeo, a autographed football from coach brody hoke , tickets from the fenton village players, and various other donations you will have to check out. The winners will be able to take there items home on the 10th. If anyone would like to donate a side dish, dessert or something for the auction please bring it with you about 1230 on the 10th or give me a call at 810-691-3157. As everyone knows medical bills are expensive and we would like to help Elise with whatever we can raise.A huge thank goes out to Rosemary Burgess and her help in acquiring the moose for the event. The ladies at the moose are fantastic and have shown us so much support in there efforts I know it could not of been achieved without them.

Now lets see, I think I left off with the day to days travels of my husband and I getting ready to leave for our 25th anniversary. Yes, we did fly out of here to Neveda in December and spent a full week out there. We soon found out that freemont street was not a place to stay as it use to be and found we are still the travelers and after a quick drive through of the strip we headed out of town. We had a wonderful time with the improvments at red rock canyon and even traveled back to Hoover Dam and took a look at the bridge over the dam that I was not talked into driving over.We stopped in Boulder on the way back and they have redone the old town and it is very quiet and beautiful. The shops were great. from ice cream to antiques and jewelry to indian trinkets we loved it. The people were so friendly we ended up meeting and visiting the one store owners entire family and sitting around watching evening close in. Valley of fire was amazing as always and we hiked some paths with a couple from colorado who were formerly from michigan. Then we jumped in the rental and hit the road for Beatty neveda and spent the night before traveling into Death Valley to visit scottys castle. Highly recommend that for the scenic drive and the history and tour of this place. amazing! we made it almost to reno and along the way found an area 57 truck stop with a pink brothel attached (that is on hbo) to it. In the absolute middle of no where brothels popped up all through the desert which was astounding but even better were all the ghost towns we found. Jeff and I started ghost town hunting on our twentieth anniversary and never stopped.Neveda and california have so many that you would never even know were there.fortunatly I love to talk to people and we have found some amazing places to view. We did however stop in one old mining town which I refused to even leave the car. The town is actually a working town but it was creepy enough to make my skin crawl. So we headed back toward vegas and we found the silverton about a mile away from the strip. Beautiful place with a Bass pro shop attached to it.Too say the least that was right up our ally with everything from boats, camo and guns to bows, clothing and knives. That night we even bowled inside a vintage airstream trailer converted into a bowling lane had a great meal , and retired to a room with an overstuuffed king bed.We spent several days here as our sleeping destination and then as the rodeo rolled into town we made our way to the other end of the strip after a trip to ethel m chocolates and the m and m store  on our way out to sams town. sams town is wonderful. five miles from the chaos and everything has been refurbished.we received a complimentary upgrade and found ourselves in another great room. Now this placed rocked with the cowboys, sheplers merchandise tent set up outside and there regular place inside, movies, bowling, dancing eaterys and gambeling along with the riders exercising there horses around the block out back was spell binding for this lady. But enough of that because I could go on forever. We also did a road trip to to the shop of "Pawn Stars". We arrived just as they opened which was good because they have velvet ropes set outside to form the lines of people that gathar. The gaurd told us it is usually a 2 to 4 hour wait. I could see why. The place is very small. The garage part and office part are totally blocked off leaving you with one straight shot of walls covered with everything and cases as you see on the show.I did get my silver old man coin and got out the door before chaos started. Not a great part of town so if you do wonder there be careful. we did some other odds and ends and did most our gambeling at the airport waiting for a flight to come home.we loved the desert and everything we seen and hopefully will return to the west soon to do some more. Christmas was spent at my folks in florida and our dog was chased all over by my folks new baby yorkie who we were convinced had a hyper disorder.Loveable and unstoppable she definatly kept everyone running and there wasnt a dull moment to be had. My folks have wonderful neighbors.A german lady and her irish husband by the names of ursala and richard that garden everyday and you hear the german music through the woods as they grow there vegetables and flowers.Down the road is a dear friend to us too. Rhonda loves when we get down there because we hit the flea markets, and antique stores and every little consignment and thrift place we can find. The treasures to be found in these little towns still amazes me.on this trip we found many items but the best part was the cuban resturant we found inside an old bar.The fish and rice was out of this world and the garlic fries were delicious!! Hope the place is there when we return. my folks received there cpl's in the mail after going through all the training and we all headed to the gun range to practice some more.It was determined that my mom would now like to have a pistol like mine which we found comical since dad just presented her with the one she was using.after a few days of visiting and card playing we headed home once again.

Since returning home we have been back to the everyday work bussle. My son surprised us with a visit which isnt often enough as the grandkids grow like weeds and we are hoping to see them again soon. Chels is singing everywhere she can and is going to be at elise benefit on the 10th too. Yep, she is still working away at Fratz and I drop in there in between massages to work too. I love that place. I love all the people too. If you have stuff sitting around you want to consign now is the time to bring it in. Of course I love working at all my places and look forward to Loose Center in Linden, Burton Senior Center and total Wellness chiropractic in Linden. Everyone knows with my schedule to call or text and I will get back with them.If its an appointment you need just call the place of business for an appointment. My auto case injuries are always keeping me going and I look forward to speaking and helping them with there needs so if you do know anyone looking for a therapist just send them my way- please and thank you!
