Every once in a while we all receive something in the mail that just doesn't sit right. Today was such an occasion for me. I got this very official-looking envelope, post marked from Dallas, TX. It's the kind of envelope that you have to rip the ends off of in order to gain access to the goodies inside.
Printed across the top was, "Medicare Open Enrolment Inquiry Card." Inside the envelope was a post card which started out, "When you turn age 65, you will be in your Medicare 'Open Enrolment' period"..... Blah-blah-blah.
Down several lines was a place for me to put a check mark next to "YES! Also send me information on prescription discounts."
They were asking for the name and date of birth of me and my wife, along with a phone number. The post card was to be sent back to them at:

Being your basic non-trusting-soul, I immediately talked to my dear friend, Mr. Google. He told me there had already been several complaints about this scam. It also seems one man had taken the envelope to his local Social Security Office where the SS representative said, "This is not an official Social Security document," or something along those lines...
I am convinced this is an absolute scam, and I wanted to make sure that others heard about it, as it seems to be "going around.."
