Downtown Fenton Streetscape Update - August 7

Stay in the know about the Fenton Streetscape 2015 at FentonMomentum.com

FENTON MI- Mill Street has returned to a one-way westbound street as it did prior to the construction beginning. This past week, contractors continued to lay brick in the downtown area and new sidewalk is now continuous throughout the first phase of the project. The decorative brick is still being installed. In addition, vehicles can park in the newly constructed parking stalls on Shiawassee and Elizabeth Street east of LeRoy.

Beginning August 10th, the project will shift north on LeRoy Street from Ellen Street to Caroline. The majority of the construction work will be completed only in that area and traffic will be closed on LeRoy between Ellen and Caroline until approximately September 3, 2015. Champagne-Marx will begin installing storm sewer and water main on LeRoy between Caroline and Ellen Street. On Monday, the road surface on LeRoy will be milled from Ellen to Silver Lake Road. Northbound and southbound traffic will continue on LeRoy between Silver Lake Road and Caroline. Caroline Street will remain open for travel. Two way traffic will resume on LeRoy between Elizabeth and Ellen Street and Shiawassee Avenue between Adelaide and LeRoy at a later date. Municipal parking can be accessed from Walnut Street (Cornerstone area parking) and Caroline Street (Community Center area parking) in this phase.

As always, please be safe and mindful of your surroundings in the construction zone. If you have questions please free to email streetscape2015@cityoffenton.org.
