Downtown Fenton Streetscape Update - July 17

Stay in the know about the Fenton Streetscape 2015 at FentonMomentum.com

We appreciate the cooperation we received on Thursday as Downtown Fenton was being paved. Champagne-Marx does not expect to begin the second phase of the project until August 10, 2015. I will provide more details early next week, however, the plan initially is to close LeRoy between Ellen Street and Caroline and complete all of the work in that area until they proceed with the area on LeRoy between Caroline and Silver Lake Road. They will work in block to block increments for the remainder of the project as there is not a need for as much infrastructure work (i.e. water main and sewer) for this portion of the project.

Next week, brick paving will begin on Shiawassee and LeRoy Street where the concrete has been poured. Bricks will also be installed in the new parking bays. One way traffic will continue on Shiawassee and LeRoy, however the streets will have barricades to protect the brick workers as they work on one side of the street. Concrete workers will still be in the area pouring new sidewalk.

On Tuesday or Wednesday next week, Adelaide will be closed around Mill Street as work to connect sewer in that area will be completed. When that occurs, access to the Post Office will be from LeRoy to Mill Street. Once Adelaide is reopened, sewer work will continue on Mill Street and you can enter the post office from Adelaide and Mill Street.

Elizabeth Street from Oak Street to LeRoy will be closed as work continues in that area. Left hand turns from northbound S. LeRoy to Elizabeth Street will be allowed.

As always, please be safe and mindful of your surroundings in the construction zone. If you have questions please free to email streetscape2015@cityoffenton.org.
