Downtown Fenton Streetscape Update - May 8

Stay in the know about the Fenton Streetscape 2015 at FentonMomentum.com

Last weekend we learned that the new water main passed all of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality required bacteria tests. This week, Champagne-Marx began tying into the new Water Main on LeRoy near Elizabeth. Water was shut off in the area. Some properties, mainly the businesses only had their water shutoff for approximately one hour. However, many residential properties on Elizabeth and LeRoy saw water shutoffs for several hours as they tied the leads to the new water main in those areas. For those affected by this, I appreciate your cooperation and patience on this matter.

Next week, Shiawassee will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday so they can connect the water service leads from the new water main to all of the properties on Shiawassee. There is the potential for water shutoffs later in the week as they will be tying into the new water main on Shiawassee to Adelaide. When the City knows exactly when that will occur we will notify the affected properties. Installation of the storm sewer will also begin toward the end of next week on LeRoy and Shiawassee. Storm Sewer work will also begin near Mill Street. At our weekly progress meeting on Wednesday, Champagne-Marx informed us that they were currently on schedule.
