
This weekend at the Genesee County Fair, highlights include tributes to men and women in the armed services, lots of animal shows/auction events, Christian and country music performances and a rodeo.
Starting at noon each day, the midway’s open; unlimited rides are available for $20.

Friday is Armed Services Day at the Genesee County Fair and includes a 10 a.m. flag-raising ceremony by the Genesee County Young Marines, a POW/MIA ceremony at 2 p.m. as well as a 6 p.m. tribute to service people and evening colors.

Country star Rodney Atkins is the headliner of this day; he performs in the grandstand at 7:30 p.m. Note that you must have the Fair Fun Pass, which costs $25, to get into this event.
Family-friendly events abound, too, including the 4-H dog and pygmy goat shows at 9 a.m., the beef cattle show at 10 a.m., an ugly dog contest at 1 p.m., a dog and owner look-alike contest at 1 p.m., the 3 p.m. 4-H small animal livestock auction, a toilet paper mummy wrap contest at 4 p.m. and the 4-H super showman contest at 6:30 p.m.
An event that takes place daily include: White Tiger Discovery, an educational, entertaining exhibit that opens each day at noon. There is an additional charge of $3. See other daily events here.
Other Friday happenings include an 8 p.m. Hooters wing eating competition and Westfall performing live in the beer tent starting at 9:30 p.m.
Saturday’s grandstand event includes Genesee Dodge Ram Rodeo performances at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Cost is $15 to get in.
There’s also a horse show at 9 a.m., a cat show at 10:30 a.m., contemporary Christian music at noon, a 4-H large animal livestock auction at 1 p.m., Genesee Valley Dodge Rodeo at 2 p.m., a 4 p.m. performance by Bullhonky Deluxe at 4 p.m., a 5 p.m. hula hoop contest and a performance by Crop Circle starting at 9:30 p.m. live in the beer tent.
