Family Math Night at UM-Flint, Oct. 27
Family Math Night, free and open to all, at UM-Flint, Oct. 27. Perfect for K-6!
The University of Michigan-Flint Department of Mathematics, in collaboration with the UM-Flint Elementary Mathematics Program, is hosting their autumn Family Math Night on Tuesday, October 27, from 6-8pm in the UM-Flint University Center Michigan Rooms.
This free event is an opportunity for children and their families to have fun together with math. The event is open to all ages, but is most appropriate for elementary aged children, grades K-6.
Various activities, such as puzzles and games, will be set up around the rooms. Each activity takes a few minutes and children will have a chance to try as many as they like. The emphasis is not on numerical computation, but rather on such things as estimation, patterns, spatial and geometrical perception, and hands-on activities. No special knowledge or previous experience is necessary!
