Fenton Police Collect 30 Pounds of Prescriptions at Drug Take-Back
Amount is consistent with other take-back events, police say.
Fenton police collected approximately 30 pounds of unneeded and outdated prescription medicines in the said Chief of Police Rick Aro. The Fenton Police Department turned these over to the national Drug Enforcement Agency for destruction.
The amount of prescription medication people turned in is pretty consistent with other drug take-back events the Fenton police have hosted, Aro said. He notes that the amount is not decreasing.
It’s that many prescription medications that aren’t on the street, he added. Young people might end up abusing prescriptions lying around the home, and later begin using heroin because it’s less costly than prescription medicines, Aro said.
