On The Road With Donna- Our Sharpei Family

Hi Everyone. Yes I know it has been awhile. Time sure fl. Fall is upon us and I am still wondering what happened to summer . I truly love the crisp air and the colors changing but that white stuff that follows......you can keep it. Right now the entire family is busy with finishing up house repairs, staining the decks, and hauling miscellaneous furniture and house hold items to Fratz Consignment to be used by someone else and give us even more space here to find another must have find. My massages have been great and I continue to enjoy my work with others. We have had a litter of sharpei puppies and they have filled this house with even more laughter and love with there antics . Even though I still shed tears when they leave for there forever homes I look forward to hearing from everyone and the seeing the pictures that are sent. We have four more left and I know that wont be for long before they too go to there new home. We have always had animals and life sure would be dull without them around. We raised Siberian huskies for 14 years and in the midst of them always had a sharpei.  I can say health wise they have grown into  great animals. It use to b ten years was there max for life. Now we are looking at 14 years. There use to be skin issues which is no longer the case here. Yes, the ears like most dogs still need daily cleaning and about the only thing I still watch are there eyelids but have not had a issue with that since our mom and dad dogs never had issues either. They are a one family dog. They do protect those they love and come running if they think the grand kids need more attention. (yes they tattle on everyone- including themselves). Good hunters too. They have a great nose and stand on point if they spot a deer in the yard. You would think I am talking about hound dogs instead of my wrinkled friends. Our first sharpei looked like a little bear  when she came home and that was well over 25 years ago. Once you have them you always have them. We are wrinkle junkies. Fitting once you think about it since we have developed wrinkles over the years too.
