Ross Medical Education Center to Host Blood Drive on Davison Campus
Ross Medical Education Center announced that they will be hosting a blood drive in association with Michigan Blood on their Davison Campus
Davison, Mich. (August 20, 2014) – Ross Medical Education Center announced that they will be hosting a blood drive in association with Michigan Blood on their Davison Campus on August 26, 2014 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. According to Michigan Blood, busy summer schedules often lead to a “summer slump” in blood donations, and Ross Education has committed to doing its part to help prevent the critical loss of blood.
“According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. That means that more than 41,000 blood donations are needed every day – many of those right here in Michigan,” said Michelle Lambaria-Robson, Assistant Director of Education at Ross’ Davison Campus. “Ross Medical Education Center is committed to giving back in the communities in which we serve, and our partnership with Michigan Blood is just one example of that dedication. It is our delight to do what we can to help Michigan Blood provide life-saving services throughout the state.”
Any healthy person 17 or older (16 with parent/guardian permission) who weighs 110 lbs or more can give blood every 56 days, according to Michigan Blood. After a brief pre-donation health screening, donating blood takes just 7-10 minutes and a 10-minute snack/rest period follows. Those donating blood should allow 45-60 minutes for the whole process, including screening. Ross’s Davison campus, where the blood drive will be drawn, is located at 815 South State Street, Davison, Michigan 48423. Call (810) 658-1424 for more information.
