1 Dead, 1 Hurt In After-Prom Party Shooting In Oakland County: Reports

HAZEL PARK, MI — A man is dead and a woman was injured in an early Friday after-prom party shooting in Oakland County, according to multiple local reports.
The shooting happened after 1 a.m. Friday in the area of Powell and Orchard avenues near Interstate 75 and Nine Mile Road in Hazel Park, according to police.
Officers found a 20-year-old Detroit man suffering from a gunshot wound outside a home and a 19-year-old Pontiac woman who had been shot a few houses down, WXYZ reports.

Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital where the man died, according to police.
Investigators believe there was a fight that led to gunfire in and outside the home, which was hosting an after-prom party, reports said.
