3 Residents Robbed at Gunpoint on Channing

A man and two women demanded money and took purses.

are looking for three suspects who robbed three residents at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday on Channing Street, east of Woodward.

A 31-year-old man and two 25-year-old woman were walking east on Channing when three suspects approached them, Ferndale Police Lt. Detective William Wilson said in a statement.

One of the suspects was a black male, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a dark complexion, wearing a ball cap, black T-shirt and carrying a silver semiautomatic pistol, Wilson said.

The other two suspects were black females, both 5 feet 4 inches tall. One had blond hair and was heavy-set; the other had black hair pulled back in a ponytail, Wilson said.

"The male robber approached the male victim, pointed the gun at his head and demanded money," Wilson said. "Simultaneously, the two women robbers grabbed the purses from the women victims.

"The man with the gun then ordered the victims to run away or be shot."
