7-Eleven Clerk Rang Up Partial Sales, Pocketed the Rest: Police
The store owner became suspicious about the "extraordinary amount of price checks" the clerk was making.

FERNDALE, MI – Former Ferndale 7-Eleven clerk Camille Phillips, 41, on Monday waived her right to a hearing on felony embezzlement charges relating to the theft of $3,000 from the store during a five-month period ending in April 2015.
Phillips, who will now stand trial in Oakland County Circuit Court, is accused of taking money from customers, but not ringing up the full sales, Ferndale police Detective Brendan Moore told The Daily Tribune.

Police allege she rang up partial sales and pocketed the rest of the money. The store owner became suspicious because of the “extraordinary amount of price checks” on items with the cash register scanner, Moore said.

“She would ring up some items on the register,” Moore said. “With the rest of the items she would scan it for a price check to make it look like she was ringing it up, but the price-checked items didn’t register as a sale.”
