Alleged Bagel Van Thieves Arrested, Charged
Two men allegedly stole a running bagel delivery van early Thursday before trapping themselves on a dead-end street.

FERNDALE, MI – Two men have been arrested in the theft of a New York Bagel delivery van left running outside the business at 23316 Woodward Ave. about 3:40 a.m. Thursday morning.
Brennan Scott Schneider, 19, and Shawn Damon Henry, 38, were arrested after allegedly driving the van down a dead-end street. Both men, who are believed to be homeless, were expected to be arraigned in Ferndale 43rd District Court Friday.

Ferndale Police Lt. William Wilson told The Oakland Press that a store employee noticed the van was missing after the younger man, who had asked to use the restroom, left the business.
The employee called police with a description of the vehicle, which was spotted by a patrol officer heading east on Nine Mile Road. The officer followed the van down several streets before the driver became trapped on East Troy, which hits a dead end near J&J Auto near Hilton Road.

Schneider was charged with unlawfully driving way of an automobile, and Henry was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
