SOUTHFIELD, MI — Part of a major road in Oakland County will close down for two months, according to road officials.
Crews will close Greenfield Road over Interstate 696 on the Southfield/Oak Park border starting next Monday for bridge work, according to road officials.
Drivers will be able to use the Interstate 696 service drive to turn around and get back onto Greenfield Road, according to road officials.
Road officials reminded drivers that the exit and entrance ramps for Interstate 696 at Greenfield Road are already closed.
The bridge work is part of the I-696 Restore the Reuther construction project, a three-year project that is expected to be completed in 2027.

In addition, the Interstate 696 ramp onto M-1 (Woodward) will close in late May and a portion of Southfield Road will be closed in late summer.
