FERNDALE, MI — A popular Ferndale ice cream shop is closing down its location, but it's not a goodbye.
Treat Dreams announced Thursday that it's closing down its flagship location on Woodward Avenue at the end of the month after 16 years.
However, staff said the Treat Dreams food truck will continue serving the community. They also said two of the store's team members are starting a baking and ice cream business called Sweets², which will team up with Treat Dreams.
Staff said guests will still be able to find the same treats they love, including the popular "Kooky Monster" flavor.
"So, while the business is taking on a new identity, you'll still be able to find the treats you know and love rolling up to events and bringing sweetness wherever it goes," staff said in a post.
Treat Dreams also had locations in Detroit (Midtown), Grosse Pointe Woods and Madison Heights. Those locations have closed within the last few years.
