Baker Tilly is founding member of new US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce
New US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce started by Baker Tilly
Southfield, Mich., November 12, 2015 -- Baker Tilly, Michigan has announced that it is a founding member of the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, Detroit Chapter, a new organization in the city. Jeff Jorge, principal at Baker Tilly and leader of Baker Tilly Michigan’s International Services Team and the firm’s Latin American Services desk, has joined the board.
“Baker Tilly’s commitment to begin a chapter in Detroit is a great opportunity for us,” said Blanca Berthier, regional executive director, the U.S. Mexico Chamber of Commerce in Chicago. “This will help us bridge differences in legal, regulatory and economic systems, as well as language and culture.”
The organization’s mission is to promote business between the United States and Mexico. The bilateral organization will promote trade, investment and joint ventures on both sides of the border. In its fourth decade of operation, the Chamber has grown into a unique non-profit corporation operating through eight offices in Mexico and ten offices in the United States.

“We are very excited that Baker Tilly is a founding member of this great organization,” said Jorge. “And I am very honored to be a new board member. We are looking forward to developing a strong local membership with international contacts to promote business between our two countries.”
