Blotter: Three Men Held on Charges of Home Invasion in Ferndale
Western Market theft suspects hospitalized after crashing into a house.

Three men suspected of burglarizing a home on Allen Road between Fielding and Gardendale streets have now been charged with second-degree home invasion.
say the suspects following a reported burglary about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, thanks to a phone tip from suspicious neighbors. All three are being held on bond.
Police responded to the crime in progress, according to the report, and arrived to the area in time to see the suspects leaving the scene in a vehicle. Police followed the car, which was abandoned in a neighborhood of Detroit. The report states that the men then ran away.

Police from Ferndale, Hazel Park, Detroit, and Warren cordoned off an area and searched for the suspects, who were found within yards of each other in the area of Norfolk Avenue and Warrington Drive. Police are investigating to determine whether the suspects may have been involved in other burglaries reported recently in the area - and whether others were involved.

Two males in their mid-fifties are suspected of stealing salt from , 447 W. 9 Mile Rd., about 1:15 a.m. this morning.
Ferndale police spotted the suspects' vehicle, a 1996 blue Chevrolet, near the area of 8 Mile Road and Allen Road Friday around 1:15 a.m. According to reports, police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver drove it into Royal Oak, then went southbound on Indiana Avenue into Detroit.
The suspect vehicle continued at a high rate of speed and crashed into a house on Pembroke Street in Detroit. The report did not indicate whether officers were chasing the car.
Both suspects were injured and transported to the hospital for treatment where they were admitted. Ferndale police said it will turn the matter over to the prosecutor’s office for a determination of charges.
