CBI Recruiting For Upcoming Hacker Academy

Aspiring IT Security professionals applying now for the next CBI Academy

CBI, a Michigan-based provider of IT risk management services and solutions, announced today its interview schedule for the next CBI Academy, an intensive two-year program that catapults university graduates into the information security field, on December 10 and 11. CBI CEO and President Steve Barone made the announcement.

“The need for IT security talent is rapidly growing and the Academy gives individuals the proper training and the opportunities to have a successful career as an IT security professional,” said Barone. “Forty-one percent of Millennials are interested in a career in cyber security, but the majority have a difficult time breaking into the field because of a lack of knowledge and experience. Our unique Academy provides that path for them to advance their careers.”

CBI Academy bridges the talent gap between students and professionals by offering real-life experience and training, paving the path for a career as a successful InfoSec professional by learning offensive and defensive hacking skills. It is a full-time position beginning with a 12-week apprentice-style program, followed by shadowing and mentoring opportunities. Upon completion of apprentice status, Academy employees are promoted to entry-level, junior-level, and mid-level consulting engagements over the next two years.

“We expose them to the technology, practices, and services CBI offers, resulting in a well-rounded consultant ready to take on the world,” said J Wolfgang Goerlich, dean of the CBI Academy. “We look for more than just quick thinking and sharp intellect. We look for candidates that have the right personality, drive and values to succeed in this industry. The Academy then provides every advantage necessary to succeed.”

Candidates must have experience with basic network and server administration skills, foundational verbal and written communication skills, and a passion to continue growing their IT knowledge. Candidates are typically recent graduates with an IT degree, intermediate IT professionals, military veterans with IT experience, or individuals looking to advance their career to the next level.
