Please join Ferndale Youth Assistance on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 for a free workshop entitled "Understanding Teen Depression". This workshop is designed to help parents recognize the common signs and symptoms of depression and suicidality in teens. We will discuss prevalence, how we diagnose depression, some of the common causes, treatment options, how to differentiate between teens "just being teens" and depression and primary risk factors and warning signs for suicide. The facilitators for this event are Jenna Nienhaus and Mary Gass from the University of Michigan Depression Center.
