Ferndale Citizens Police Academy Taking Applications

The four-week course in October will give residents a glimpse into the day-to-day operations of the Ferndale Police Department.

FERNDALE, MI — If you’ve ever wanted to be a cop for a day, the Ferndale Police Department is offering the next-best thing with a four-week Citizens Police Academy to be held this fall.

The academy, to be held every Thursday evening in October, will familiarize residents with “a true representation of police work and will provide a glimpse into the day-to-day operations of your Ferndale Police Department,” Sgt. Baron Brown, the police department’s community engagement officer, said in a news release.

The academy will be conducted in the council chambers at Ferndale City Hall, 300 E Nine Mile Road, and in and around locations in Ferndale.
