Ferndale Man Honored for Work with Rescue Animals; Employer Donates $2,500 in His Name

Citizens Bank writes check to Almost Home in Honor of Employee John Stanaszek

(Originally posted on Dec. 8, 2016) FERNDALE, MI — John Stanaszek has helped a lot of rescued dogs and cats in his life, and now, because of his work, even more animals will be able to get medical care. Stanaszek works for Citizens Bank, which recently honored him with its annual Credo Champion for Community Award and donated $2,500 to a charity of his choice — Almost Home Animal Rescue League no-kill shelter, The Daily Tribune reported.

“I have always liked dogs and have grown up with dogs in my home,” Stanaszek told The Daily Tribune. “Animals give back love unconditionally and if I can help rescue one dog or cat I will gladly do that.”

The shelter's founder, Gail Montgomery, said the money will help offset veterinary bills that run about $100,000 a year.
