Ferndale Man Shot Twice in Head in Suspected Robbery Attempt
Police said two men armed with handguns approached a man and his girlfriend in their car Thursday night.

A Ferndale man shot twice in the head Thursday night was likely the target of a robbery, police said Friday.
The shooting occurred at 8:10 p.m. in the area of Hazelhurst and Wanda, near where the victim and his girlfriend, both 20, live, police said in a statement.

The woman told police they were sitting in their vehicle when two black males in their 20s, each carrying a handgun, pointed the handguns in their direction and one of them began shooting.

“The female victim said she thought the two men were going to rob her and her boyfriend, and the one suspect may have accidentally shot her boyfriend, panicked, and continued shooting while retreating,” Detective. Lt. William Wilson of the Ferndale Police Department said in the statement.
The man was rushed to William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak, where his condition is unknown.
