Ferndale's Daily Dinette Closed This Week to Expand Pop's for Italian
The area will be transformed so Pop's can take larger reservations, have a private dining area, and hold wine events and classes.

FERNDALE, MI — Loved for their doughnuts, Ferndale's Daily Dinette closed this week. Daily Dinette was located in the back of Pop's for Italian, and was shut down to expand Pop's.
The Daily Dinette area will be redesigned so Pops can take larger reservations, have a private dining area, and hold wine events and classes, according to The Detroit News.
“Our phones never stop ringing for reservations and off-premise catering, so we have decided to create a room where families and friends can share special occasions,” said owner Brian Kramer in a press release issued Monday.

Kramer said he even wants to bring in chefs from Italy for pop-up dinners in what will be the newly renovated space.
“We are getting so much recognition for our unique wine program in the wine industry, that we are hoping to cultivate a following of wine enthusiasts,” said VP of Operations Beth Hussey.

The Kramer Restaurant Group does a similar program with craft beer at One-Eyed Betty's, which is also one of their Ferndale restaurants, The Detroit News reports.
Pop's for Italian and Daily Dinette opened last winter under the Kramer Restaurant Group. They announced that Daily Dinette would shrink to allow Pop's to expand this past summer, but now the diner is being eliminated altogether, said The Detroit News.
There are plans to restore Daily Dinette's concept of doughnuts, breakfast food, and late-night snacks in the future, but no further details were stated in the release.
