Heroin Use Suspected in Death of Man on Ferndale Roof
Police said they found a crack pipe and packet of heroin in room man was renting.

FERNDALE, MI – A 28-year-old man found dead on the roof of a Ferndale duplex where he was renting a room may have been a heroin user, police said.
The man’s body was discovered on the roof of a duplex in the 200 block of East Drayton about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, The Daily Tribune reports.

Toxicology reports and an autopsy have been ordered to determine the cause of death, but police said they found a crack pipe and heroin in the man’s room.
Firefighters had to use a fire lift truck to get the man’s body off the roof after a co-worker spotted it. It’s unclear how long he had been on the roof. He was last seen about 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, and didn’t show up for work Monday.

The man reportedly moved to Ferndale about two weeks ago. The owner of the home where he died told police the deceased man “had a history of drug use in the past,” but that he was clean.
