This is going to be a quick one, because the truth is, it's almost too late for the Yucca Flower. This succulent desert native is edible! The flowers are delicious, some people say they have a taste like an artichoke, but milder. They are just passing their bloom here in the flowers I have seen around town, but you should still be able to beat the rain and the bugs to some of these delicious and nutritious flower petals. Stand by the plant, pick the flowers, and eat them raw. There will still be plenty left to add to a salad. Or, as I am going to try tomorrow, follow the recipe suggested by my former neighbor in Southwest Detroit, stuff them with cheese and fry them up with eggs. I will let you know on Sunday how these came out!
