MUDGIE'S: A DETROIT DELI FOR THE SANDWICH LOVER

One of my favorite places is Mudgie's Deli in Corktown, Detroit.

Mudgie’s is not a large restaurant – which adds to is welcoming appeal. Small tables provide a cozy dining atmosphere – but can easily be pushed together for a larger group. A popular brunch spot – Mugies has a large menu that include lunch, dinner, brunch and happy hour.

I love Mudgie’s for many reasons including the fact they roast their own meats, have 90+ beers on tap, use local products when possible AND are dedicated to recycling and composting.

If you are looking for a fantastic, classic deli experience – this is your place.

I think Mudgie’s is perfectly priced. A little more expensive than your average coney island sandwich but for good reason…this isn’t your average sandwich. Everything is a la carte – so if you want a side with your sandwich be sure to order one. My favorite combo is the potato salad (made with red skin potatoes, apples, red peppers and housemade whole grain Michigan beer mustard) and the Barrett sandwich (house roasted Sy Ginsberg corned beef, Mudgie-made creamy cole slaw, Swiss cheese and Mudgie-made thousand island style dressing on an onion roll) Be still my heart.

Casual and cozy – this is the PERFECT place for a long lunch or a brunch with friends. Come hungry because you won’t leave that way!
