New Ferndale-Based Service Offers Chauffeur Service for Night Out
Keys Please's drivers help fill a void in public transportation and for those who want a safe way to get around and back home.

Planning a night out with friends and need a safe ride home? There's a new business in town for you.
Instead of calling a cab, Keys Please will be your personal chauffeur for the night – driving you in your own car to your destination, staying with your car for the duration of the evening or driving you to multiple venues, and driving you home at the end of the night.
The new service is offered by Ferndale-based Night Move Transportation, which provides eco-conscious shuttle bus transportation for large events and private parties.
"We want to be the go-to for any passenger transportation," founder Chris Ramos said.

Ramos said Keys Please, which has been operating for about two months, fills a need for transportation in the area. “Metro Detroit has always faced limited options for getting home after a night out,” he said. “We’re providing an affordable safety proposition to confront this issue.”
Keys Please charges $18 per hour with a three-hour minimum for bookings.

"They'll drop you off, find a place to park, you don't have to walk to the venue. As soon as you're ready to leave, your driver's there to get you back," Ramos said, adding that customers can make multiple stops to other venues or drop off friends who are ready to go home. "Whatever you want to do the driver is there to do it."
Chris Hughes, communications and marketing manager for the , said the service sounds like a great idea.
"We want everybody to arrive safe at their destination, so anything that makes that happen we are happy to have that be around and we hope that people will take advantage of that," Hughes said. "I do think it's helpful because we don't have a strong public transportation system so it's good to have alternative forms of transportation for people."
Ramos said business has been good so far. "Most people who have used the service once have used it more than once," he said.
