VIDEO: Woodward Avenue Brewers Celebrates 15th Anniversary

During a cake-cutting with the , the and a crowd of customers, city leaders, family and friends, WAB co-owner Krista Johnston thanked the community for its support.

"We love Ferndale and we're so happy that Ferndale grew with us," Johnston said. "We took a chance on Ferndale and Ferndale took a chance on us."

The anniversary party included prizes, a free taco bar, $1 beers all day and a free coney dog bar. Greg Burke, the WAB's brewmaster, unveiled two new beers for the celebration and an art show was held featuring employees' work throughout the building.

WAB co-owner Grant Johnston said he expected the business might be "coasting" at this point "but we seem to just keep doing more and more, which is a wonderful thing," he said, mentioning the many festivals and events the WAB participates in.

Brian Reedy, co-owner, said 15 years has "happened so quickly."

"It's just great being a part of it and being part of Ferndale," Reedy said.

The anniversary celebration continues Friday, Saturday and Sunday with WAB beers offered for $2.
