Salon Owned by Ex-NBA Player Filling Former Percussion World Location
Former basketball player Carlos Rogers of Detroit owns the space where hair salon is being readied.

Ferndale has its fair share of salons. There is something for everyone, whether for nails, hair styling, color or weaves — it's all there. Here comes another one.
The site left vacant by Percussion World, a drum shop at 22741 Woodward Ave. that shut down this winter after a long run in Ferndale, is expected to reopen as a salon, Downtown Development Authority Director Cristina Sheppard-Decius said.
The twist is that a former NBA player, Carlos Rogers, owns it. Rogers is originally from Detroit but never played for the Pistons. He was drafted 11th overall in the 1994 draft and played 298 games from '94 to 2002 for a variety of teams.

"He plans to open six salons in the Metro area, first one here, second one planned for Detroit," Sheppard-Decius said. "Men and women’s hair, also dealing in extensions and natural wigs."
The space on Woodward Avenue has had workers in and out of it for the past few weeks.
