Taft Student Arrested for Marijuana Possession, Daily Tribune Reports

A school resource officer, who was recently hired to work full time at the alternative high school, noticed a strong marijuana smell near the student, according to the article.

Ferndale Police arrested a student at on Tuesday who was carrying about a gram of marijuana, according to a story in the Daily Tribune.

The 19-year-old student is jailed on marijuana charges and is scheduled for a pre-exam conference May 10. According to the Daily Tribune article, police said the student smelled so strongly of pot that the center's school resource officer noticed and stopped him in a hallway.

“Our officer sniffed him out on his own,” Ferndale Police Lt. William Wilson told the Daily Tribune. “We didn’t need a drug dog."
