Well-Built Windows May Have Saved Man and Son in Bizarre Attack

Traffic at standstill Saturday when a man reportedly landed on a driver's hood and began hitting the windshield with a knife.

OAK PARK, MI — A Metro Detroit man said the well-built windows in his vehicle may have saved he and his son from being injured in a bizarre encounter on Interstate 94 near the Interstate 96 interchange Saturday.

Heavy traffic had ground to a stop around 3 p.m., Michael Megis told WXYZ-TV.

“Traffic came to to a hault and I was cut off by a Jaguar,” Megis said. “The cat came across and slides across the hood and does his thing — bam, bam, bam — and starts pounding on the windshield with a knife in his hand.”

The man tried to break the driver’s side window, but was unable to get in, Megis told the TV station. In all, the man struck the window eight or nine times.

“Thank God Dodge builds a good window,” said Megis.
