Harsh winter weather delayed the start of the project by one month, and concrete shortages throughout the area caused street paving and driveway and sidewalk restoration to take longer than normal.
Even though crews worked seven days a week during the final month of the project, contractors were receiving restricted amounts of concrete from suppliers.

The City’s Engineering Department is also working with DTE Energy to ensure that a number of projects managed by DTE will be completed in a timely manner with minimal inconvenience for residents.
DTE has been replacing and performing maintenance on gas mains in areas throughout the City, leading to construction on the following streets:
- Tenny between Beech and Elmdale
- Mason from Beech to Monroe
- Tannahill from Cherry Hill to Nash
- Francis between Cass and Monroe
- Military and Cass intersection
City engineers have met with DTE to make sure all concrete restoration work on these projects will be completed this season.
