Millions of people in impoverished countries around the world must deal with violence and hunger on a daily basis. This is a much bigger problem than most believe. The statistics are frightening: 34 million people are in dire need of humanitarian assistance, 4 million newborns are dying in the first month of life, 22 million infants are not protected from diseases, 870 million people are suffering from hunger daily, and 1 billion children are not going to survive.
The Borgen Project is an organization that aims to reduce/eradicate these statistics. The Borgen Project is a nonprofit organization that fights to end global poverty and hunger. The solution is easier than most believe. We must focus on the people who make the changes in this country: our government officials. A simple call/email to your Congressional leaders can help saves millions of lives.
