Here are the top three stories today in Grand Rapids:
- The Grand Rapids African American Museum and Archives is looking to expand its footprint nearly tenfold through a new location. The museum wants to move to an office building at 245 State St. SE. The current space is at the Monroe building. The museum is working to raise $5.3 million to purchase the building. (WOODTV.com)
- Grand Rapids Community College announces that they will be giving out $1.4 million in scholarships. According to Doctor Kathryn Mullins, the scholarships help fill a funding gap for those who are looking to receive a higher education. These scholarships are fundamental in changing students' lives. - Fiona Hill, the former U.S. National Security advisor, stopped in Grand Rapids on Monday to discuss the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Hill has worked for the past three United States administrations as an expert on Russian affairs. She advises that outrage over the invasion needs to continue else Russia achieves its fundamental goal of becoming the defunct authority in European political conflicts. (FOX 17 West Michigan News)
