- Residents in Western Michigan should be on the lookout for fake COVID-19 testing sites. The Better Business Bureau warned that there's been an increase in these fraudulent sites following the holiday season. These sites will take your social security number, credit card information, and other personal details. To verify a COVID-19 testing site, follow the guidelines outlined on this website. - Grand Rapids residents will be able to participate in a Q&A with candidates for Grand Rapids' next police chief. The public community forum will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 19 in City Commission Chambers on the 9th floor of City Hall. (MLive.com)
- Kent County Commissioner Monica Sparks created an initiative in response to the decline of mental health during the pandemic and in the forthcoming winter weather. The "Mobile Happy Lights Relaxation Station" uses FDA-approved light therapy to help residents relax and decompress. The light station will be available for free at Calder Plaza from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 13 and 20. (Fox17)
