Tanger Outlets Grand Rapids Hosts West Michigan Chalk Art Festival, Backyard Concert Series and more

Tanger Outlets Grand Rapids welcomes summer with two community-focused events: the weekly summer Backyard Concert Series and the annual West Michigan Chalk Art Festival. A feast for the eyes and ears, these events will give visitors the opportunity to enjoy free seasonal entertainment for the whole family, while also spotlighting local artists.

Backyard Concert Series

Beginning June 5 and continuing through August, the highly anticipated Backyard Concert Series takes place every Friday from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Headlined by talented local musicians, the series transforms the center's outdoor Social Zone into a lively block party. This free, family-friendly event series invites visitors to relax after shopping and enjoy a beautiful Michigan summer evening to the tune of live music and yard game favorites. West Michigan Chalk Art Festival

Just in time for Father’s Day, Tanger Grand Rapids will host the annual West Michigan Chalk Art Festival from Friday, June 19–Sunday, June 21. The festival transforms the center’s sidewalks into a vibrant, open-air gallery featuring chalk artists of all ages, live DJ entertainment and more.

In addition to the visual art, festivities will also include an extensive lineup of family fun with music, inflatables and interactive arts and crafts stations. Professional caricature artists, face painters and balloon artists will also be on-site to keep the vibes high for guests of all ages.

Festival highlights include:

·Kids Chalk Art Event: Saturday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. (Chalk is provided)

·Public Art Viewing: Available throughout the entire weekend

·Judging and Awards: Saturday evening, featuring prizes across multiple categories, ranging from $100 to $1,000
