‘Dealing Faithfully with Dementia’ Lecture Series
Dr. Suzanne McDonald will present "Dealing Faithfully with Dementia," on Thursday, June 15 and Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Dementia is a devastating diagnosis and, for many, it’s the beginning of a journey that challenges their faith and asks hard questions, such as, What kind of a God could do this to my loved one? To provide perspective and guidance, Dr. Suzanne McDonald will present “Dealing Faithfully with Dementia,” on Thursday, June 15 and Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., at Covenant Village of the Great Lakes, a faith-based, non-profit, continuing care retirement community located at 2510 Lake Michigan Drive, N.W., Grand Rapids
McDonald is a professor of historical and systematic theology and for the past 20 years has studied and reflected on the topic of dementia. She will help guests consider ways to give encouragement in Christ to individuals who suffer from dementia and their caregivers.
· On June 15, she will explore how to acknowledge and deal with the range of emotions and experiences that come with a diagnosis of dementia.

· On June 22, she will reflect on the idea of personhood, issues of dementia, and how to make sense of the disease as Christians.
