Here are the top three stories today in Grand Rapids:

  1. The Grand Rapids Police Department Chief has released the name of the officer who shot and killed Patrick Lyoya. According to the official autopsy, Christopher Schurr shot Lyoya in the back of the head at point-blank range. Chief Winstrom reportedly released the officer's identity in the "interest of transparency". (Grand Rapids Patch)
  2. The Breakaway Music Festival will be coming to Grand Rapids in August. The two-day musical celebration will be headlined by The Chainsmokers at Belknap Park from Aug. 19 through Aug. 20. Click the link for the full festival lineup. (WZZM13.com)
  3. The first regional neighborhood enrollment night for Grand Rapids Public Schools is today at the Boys & Girls Club Steil Center. Parents will have the opportunity to meet with staff to get all of their questions answered. This will be the first in-person neighborhood event in two years. (MLive.com)
