Sneak Peek! HVAM Takes the Wraps off its School Mascot!

HVAM reveals its new school mascot thanks to the help of the active student body, who voted on the winner!

At Highpoint Virtual Academy of Michigan (HVAM), students and teachers were given the unique opportunity to help create the school’s new mascot.

Since the school is only a year old, administrators wanted to provide students and teachers the chance to take ownership over their school’s representation by nominating a design for a mascot.

Students and teachers were given two weeks to come up with a design. In the end, an eagle dubbed “Highpoint Harold” was selected HVAM’s brand new school mascot!

Julia Zoutendyk, HVAM Family Engagement Coordinator, organized the event. “To me, the best part was getting to see the amazing artwork from students. We have a great deal of talent!” Julia teamed up with Local Development Manager Heather Pacheco who assisted with the entry form.

Adds Julia, “This event allowed students and staff to become more connected, providing a strong sense of community within the HVAM family.”
