Three Grand Rapids Merrill financial advisors named Top Advisors

Scott Bernecker, Timothy Long, David Lund Named to 2019 Financial Times "Top 400 Financial Advisors" List

Three Merrill financial advisors in Grand Rapids have been named to the 2019 Financial Times "Top 400 Financial Advisors" list.

Scott Bernecker joined Merrill in 1997 as a financial planning specialist. Scott focuses on clients’ goals and assists clients, their families, and businesses in understanding the range of priorities and strategies including estate planning services, investments, tax minimization strategies, wealth transfer, and retirement. He is a graduate of the Michigan State University Broad College of Business.

Timothy Long began his career at Merrill in 1994 and is a member of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Institutional Consulting, a specialized group comprised of experienced institutional consultants. Tim uses his access to the investment resources of Merrill and banking strength of Bank of America to help address the various aspects of clients’ financial needs. He graduated from University of Michigan Ross School of Business and earned his MBA from St. John’s University in New York.

David Lund joined Merrill in 1997 as an intern while working his way through college. David focuses on developing creative strategies to address issues important to corporate executives, such as non-qualified deferred compensation plans, 10b5-1 plans, tax minimization strategies, and concentrated stock management.He is a graduate of Great Lakes Christian College and Michigan State University Broad College of Business where he earned degrees in religious education and finance respectively. He recently completed an MBA at the Ross Business School at the University of Michigan.
