Trans-Matic Donates $50,000 To Local Charity

Gift is part of 50th anniversary celebration

HOLLAND, Mich., (Oct. 22, 2018) – As Election Day approaches, Trans-Matic, a global leader in deep-draw metal stamping, got into the voting spirit to help a local charity, but not by using your average polling booth. The end result was a $25,000 donation to the Children’s Advocacy Center, a gift that is part of Trans-Matic’s 50th anniversary celebration which is taking place this year.

Trans-Matic started the 50th anniversary celebration this summer at an event which brought together industry leaders and community members. As part of the festivities, Trans-Matic decided to make a donation to a local charity. A committee of different representatives from within the company chose three local charities as candidates for the donation. Employees then used colored sticky notes to post their votes on a window, with the votes forming the shape of the number 50. When the votes were counted, Children’s Advocacy Center had the most votes and became the recipient of the donation.

Children’s Advocacy Center works with children throughout Ottawa County who are victims of sexual abuse. It’s an organization that Trans-Matic has supported in the past and was proud to contribute to again. “As part of our 50th Anniversary, we wanted to say thank you to the community for all of the support,” said P.J. Thompson, President and COO. “The Children’s Advocacy Center does important work for local children and families and our team is excited to support their mission.”

Children’s Advocacy Center will use the donation for resources and programming which are urgently needed right now as they have seen an increase in requests for service. “This donation couldn’t have come at a better time and we are so humbled,” said Darcy Komejan Fluharty, Executive Director. “We are incredibly thankful that Trans-Matic employees voted for us and support our goal to help children and their families heal both emotionally and physically.”
