West Michigan Prostate Health Alliance Names First Director

Bob Prevette to oversee administration, programs, and strategic plan

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – (Jan. 10, 2019) – The West Michigan Prostate Health Alliance (WMPHA) Board of Directors announced today that Robert Prevette, JD, MBA, CTFA has been named to the role of director. Prevette, a founding member of the WMPHA and a prostate cancer survivor, will oversee and guide the coordination and growth of this non-profit organization, which launched in 2018 to increase awareness of prostate health in West Michigan, while providing support to men and their families at any point on their prostate health journey.

“We are thrilled that Bob has agreed to take on this important role and know he will do a fantastic job of bringing forth our vision that no man should succumb to prostate cancer if they ‘get checked’ and are properly diagnosed by their healthcare provider early on,” said Bill Payne, WMPHA board chair. “Bob brings a considerable professional background and deep knowledge of our vision, mission, program and community partnerships.”

Prevette’s extensive and unique leadership background in financial management, banking, and law provides the expert foundational knowledge required for this non-profit as it evolves in its second year. “I’ve experienced firsthand what can happen if you put off prostate screening. It’s a subject that men don’t like to discuss but it’s just as important as regular visits to the dentist. With the support of our founding members, volunteers, and the medical community, we will work tirelessly to increase awareness of prostate health in West Michigan and I look forward to leading this charge,” said Prevette.
