1 Hurt In Shooting At Henry Ford St. John Hospital In Grosse Pointe Woods: Police
The shooting happened in the hospital's parking lot where a security officer was looking into suspicious activity, according to police.
GROSSE POINTE WOODS, MI β A person was shot and injured in a shooting at Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Grosse Pointe Woods on Thursday night, according to police.
The shooting happened at 11:53 p.m. in the hospital's north parking lot along Moross Road, according to police.
Police said a security officer was looking into a suspicious report when the shooter opened fire. The security officer returned fire, wounding the suspected shooter, according to police.

The suspect was taken into the hospital where he was being treated, though his condition was unclear, according to police.
Michigan State Police also responded to the shooting and said that "several suspects" were involved.

Henry Ford Health said that the hospital remains open.
"The safety and well-being of our team members, patients and community is our top priority, and we are grateful our officer was unharmed," the hospital said in a statement.
Police are still investigating the shooting. They said there is no danger to the public.
