The case, involving billionaire trustee Sean Cotton and resident Kurt Lyons, will help test Michigan's new anti-SLAPP law meant to protect public speech about local officials.
   

• Men charged in Grosse Pointe Woods carjacking of father, daughter at gunpoint (clickondetroit.com) — A father and daughter were carjacked at gunpoint in Grosse Pointe Woods, and two suspects have now been ordered to stand trial in Wayne County Circuit Court. Local Grosse Pointe police departments helped quickly arrest the men after a crash, and both face serious felony charges, including carjacking that could bring a potential life sentence if convicted.
