Area Man Faces 22 Child Pornography Charges

A Macomb County man has been charged with 22 felony charges for allegedly possessing and distributing child pornography and videotaping an unclothed person, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette said in a news release Monday.

- Ten counts of distributing or promoting child sexually abusive material, a felony punishable by up to four years in prison and a $10,000 fine;
- Ten counts of distributing or promoting child sexually abusive material, a felony punishable by up to seven years in prison and a $50,000 fine
- One count of using a computer to commit a crime, a felony punishable by up to seven years in prison and a $5,000 fine; and,
- One count of videotaping an unclothed person, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
The charges resulted from a Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) investigation. Modrzejewski is accused of possessing numerous images of child pornography and was arrested Thursday, April 2, by the Michigan ICAC and St. Clair Shores Police Department.
He was arraigned the same day in St. Clair Shores 40th District Court before Magistrate Mark Metry, who set bond at $250,000 cash/surety. Modrzejewski, who was still in jail Monday, will be in court again April 14 for a preliminary examination.
