BENEFIT PARTY HELPS DETROIT DOGS AND CATS All About Animals Rescues' 3rd Annual Spay-tacular, Party for Paws

Spay-tacular Party for Paws, taking place on Thursday, April 28 , is all about showing attendees a great time while raising critical funds for All About Animals Rescues’ Detroit Pets For Life (PFL) program. 100% of the proceeds fund spay/neuter, basic medical and pet supplies for dogs and cats living in systemically poor areas.

PFL is a unique boots-on-the-ground outreach program focused on reducing pet over-population and creating humane communities, neighborhood by neighborhood. Through All About Animals Rescue’s program, pet parents are provided with the resources, mentoring and knowledge needed to care for their pets. This serves to reduce the number of domestic animals on the streets and in shelters, and bring relief in underserved areas.

Since late 2012, over 2,000 cats and dogs have been helped through the program. Only 20% of these pets had ever seen a veterinarian, just 12% had been vaccinated and a mere 3% were sterilized.

Over 40,000 cats and dogs are killed in Michigan shelters each year. With so many homeless pets crowding local shelters, All About Animals Rescue continues to push spay and neuter procedures as the first line of defense. “Keeping pets healthy and with the families who already love them is a close second”, says Outreach Director, Kristen Huston.
