Bites Nearby: Golden Dragon

Each week, Grosse Pointe Patch editors and readers will pick a great restaurant either in town or nearby.

Here's this week's choice: 

Golden Dragon

is much more than a Chinese restaurant.  With a full bar available, hanging out at Golden Dragon is not out of the question.  With a focus American style Chinese cuisine, all of the classic dishes are there from Almond boneless chicken to crab rangoon to Chop Suey.

Soups:  Either wonton or egg drop are included with lunch or dinner specials.  For an additional charge, hot & sour, sizzling rice, and "Dragon Special," are also available.  

Appetizers: Egg rolls, crab rangoon, pot stickers, and among others are included.  An egg roll is served with lunch and dinner specials.  

Entrees: The whole pantheon of American Chinese cuisine is at your fingertips.  Lo Mein, Chop Suey, Fried Rice, Egg Foo Young, Szechuan/Hunan, and more are all sectioned off on the menu.  Nearly everything is available as a combination platter with an egg roll and chicken fried rice. 

Looking for direction? General Tso's Chicken is a slightly spicy, kind of sweet dish that is quite popular.  If you're looking for something even spicier, try the Szechuan Beef extra spicy.  The combination of chili peppers with beef and fresh veggies is something special.

Dessert: Almond cookies and fortune cookies.  A fortune cookie is provided with the bill at the conclusion of your meal.
