Anthony was born and raised in Detroit, and like most of his peers his life lacked extravagance. He was raised by a single working mother who attended college at night to provide better opportunities for her children. This shouldered a lot of responsibility for her two older sons, but it produced two great men; one having served many years in the US Air Force and the other having spent 15 years with the Detroit Fire Department.
Anthony’s entire working career has been with the American Red Cross. After a number of advancements he now serves as an analyst; specializing in policy evaluation and process improvement. He also works with Government & Community Affairs. In addition Anthony has used his areas of knowledge to serve as a consultant throughout the metro Detroit area. He has assisted municipalities, political candidates, and non-profits in areas from organizational management to strategy development.
Anthony completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University and Wayne State University receiving a bachelor degree in Public Affairs/ Political Science. He is currently a Master of Public Policy candidate at the University of Michigan-Dearborn; subsequently he will begin his Ph.D. studies at Wayne State University.
The proud husband and father is an active member of many boards and committees throughout the city, but he’s most proud of his Board of Governors position for his daughter’s school. His other interests and activities include serving as mentor for Big Brother Big Sisters of Metro Detroit, volunteering for Committee on Temporary Shelters, the American Red Cross, and other civic organizations.
